INFJ Intelligence: How INFJs Are Smart

When measuring intelligence it is important to remember that each person has their own unique type of intelligence. Just because someone might not be adept when it comes to sciences, doesn’t mean they don’t have an incredible grasp on languages. One person might be book smart, while the other is amazing at solving just about any problem which comes their way. There are so many ways in which people can be intelligent, and recognizing these different ways of using your mind can be an important step towards understanding people better. Just assuming someone isn’t smart because they respond to things differently than you, would be an ignorant thing to believe.

INFJs are often viewed as highly intelligent people, but understand their type of intelligence is important. Some people might not see this side of them, especially if they value a different style of thought. It is important to remember that certain types aren’t smarter than others, and that understanding the specific person is an important part of understanding their unique intelligence and way of thinking. INFJs are often drawn to and intrigued by intelligent minds, and they love being able to learn from these people. They are often very attracted to people who they find to be intelligent in different or unique ways, wanting to connect with them and their complex inner minds. They are aware that people can be intelligent in different ways and this is something they like diving deeper into.

How Their Intuition Makes the INFJ Smarter

Something which the INFJ is very connected to is their intuition, and this certainly is a type of unique intelligence they possess. Their minds are constantly running through different information and things they have observed over time, and it analyzes this information in order to make future predictions. The INFJ might not be consciously aware of this collection of data inside of their minds, but it is being utilized nonetheless. This is something which their mind works through without them consciously being aware of it most of the time. This makes it hard for the INFJ to fully explain this to others, and some might feel it is a bit more supernatural than it is rational. In reality this is a part of the INFJs unique intelligence, and is because their minds are always working overtime for them. They collect this data and can process the most likely outcome of so many different situations by using all of this information. This gives the INFJ a good sense of the future and helps them make more logical choices about which path they should take. INFJs are often better at giving advice because of this, knowing how to help their loved ones navigate situations and work towards a better goal for themselves. At times the INFJ can struggle to trust their intuition, wondering if they should heavily rely on this part of themselves. The more they learn to trust in their own intuitive strengths the more they figure out how to work towards the future they want for themselves.

Emotional Intelligence

INFJs are often emotionally intelligent people, at least when it comes to the emotions of others. They might struggle with working through their own feelings, but they have a strong sense of empathy. When it comes to understanding others and reading their feelings and desires, INFJs almost always excel. They care about the well-being of others and want to do their best to help them. For the INFJ a sense of understanding towards others is something which comes naturally, and is certainly a type of intelligence to be valued. This helps the INFJ navigate other people and situations where they need to calm down their environment. The ability to understand how to adjust the emotions in the room and help keep people calm, is something which can become extremely useful in high stress situations. This also helps the INFJ to understand people they need to work with and can be a great way to make positive connections.

INFJs are often suited to jobs which focus on people and helping others, and this certainly is something to be valued. Their sense of empathy and understanding of the emotions of others can push the INFJ towards certain careers like teaching or even being a therapist. Something which provides them with a connection to others and allows them to really help make a difference in people’s lives.

They Love to Read

INFJs often love to read and enjoy the idea of learning and absorbing new things. They have such rich and active inner minds, which are not only focused on things like emotions and fantasy. INFJs can also be drawn to sciences and other subjects, having a rather wide comprehension of subjects. Many people can assume INFJs are more suited towards writing or focusing on emotions, and while they do excel in these areas it is not all they are capable of. INFJs love being able to learn about new things and can often comprehend much more than most would expect. They are good at adapting to so many different things, especially if this is centered around someone they care about or a subject which ignites their passionate side. For the INFJ reading is something to be treasured, and this alone lends to their sense of intelligence. Being someone who likes to absorb so many different pieces of information allows the INFJ to expand their minds and learn about so many different ideas and subjects.

INFJs really want to be able to continue learning and are drawn to other people they deem intelligent. Being someone who is intrigued and fascinated by intelligent people, keeps the INFJ learning about new things as well. They want to be around people who can help them grow and who spark this part of them. They are often highly attracted to romantic partners who they feel are highly intelligent, and this is something which continues to keep the INFJs inner mind rather active and ready to absorb different knowledge and unique types of intelligence.
